What does our committee do?
SAB supports the Oak Knoll library by encouraging Oak Knoll families to sponsor books that the librarian has determined would be great additions to the library’s active collection of titles.
What types of responsibilities do our volunteers help with?
* SAB purchases books for sponsorship
* Enters the books into the library circulation system
* Places special book plates in the sponsored books acknowledging donor and honoree
* Ensures that monies paid to cover cost of the sponsored books are channeled to PTO for deposit.
* Works with OK librarian to pre-select books for sponsorship
When do we need you?
This committee is not labor intensive. One person (chair) will suffice.
How much time commitment is involved?
Not much. A major book purchase happens at the beginning of the year and at the Oak Knoll book fair while most of the inventory is sold during Special Friends’ Day. Occasional advertising in the Otter Weekly helps generate a small amount of book sales.
