Calling ALL Kids - student council
Instead of Student
Council we use a decision-making student voice program called, Calling
ALL Kids!
Much like student council, students attend meetings and discuss issues and ideas related to Oak Knoll. The biggest difference between a traditional student council and Calling ALL Kids is that it is voluntary and all students who volunteered will be included in the program this year.
Calling ALL Kids is made up of representatives from every 3-5 grade class. All students were welcomed to sign up and we are impressed with the number of students who have made the choice to be involved in school leadership. The meetings are monthly and facilitated by Mrs. Gracia. If you have any questions about or ideas for this program, please contact Mrs. Gracia.
Student Leadership Teams
Spirit Days are held three times per year. Children participate by dressing in the predetermined theme (decided by the Student Council). An assembly is held in the morning to recognize individual and classroom achievements. Students plan activities for each lunch period.
Buddy Program
At the beginning of each school year, teachers choose a buddy class. The classes that team up are usually a primary and upper grade.
